"A GODDESS IS A WOMAN'S INNER BEAUTY AND LIGHT" Debbie Reynolds
Debbie Reynolds was iconic. Her beauty, light, vitality, and charisma touched every heart that saw her sing and dance. We all loved the feeling we got from “Singing in the Rain”. I even wake up drinking my coffee and humming “Good Morning, Good Morning.” These feel good songs from "Tammy’s in Love" to "I Ain''t Down Yet" mirror the grit and goodness of a woman who lived her passion to perform. Even when she accepted her SAG lifetime achievement award at 83 she glittered in gold. The last song she sung to her daughter Carrie Fisher was, "There’s No Business Like Show Business." She moved through the darkness of divorces, bankruptcy, family heartbreaks, and betrayals one song at a time.
I saw her perform at her theatre in Las Vegas and interviewed her for my Talk Radio Show. As she shared her life’s experiences the stage glitz persona was replaced by the somber reality of her life story. She was reflective, truthful and matter of fact. “What do you do when you’ve got four kids and no money?"
She never really looked at me when she answered her own question. “You do what you do best.”
Debbie Reynolds took her final bow December 28, 2016. Her inner light and beauty continues to shine down on us. Just watch any of her movies, I guarantee you'll feel the presence of a Goddess.
So "Do what you do best, shine from within, and forget the rest." Janice Marie Wilson
